Rug Care

Usage

  • Rotate the rug every 3 months to prevent uneven fading and wear.
  • Keep the rug away from direct sunlight to prevent UV damage and fading.
  • Do not pull on loose threads; trim any protruding ends with scissors.
  • To prevent the rug from slipping or buckling, we suggest using a rug pad.
  • Place rug protectors under heavy furniture to avoid flattening the pile.

Cleaning

  • Vacuum on a regular basis using the suction setting.
  • Avoid bar beater vacuums on rugs.
  • Address spills immediately by blotting with a clean, undyed cloth. Press firmly around the spill to absorb as much liquid as possible, then lay the rug flat to dry. If drying in the sun, place the rug face down.
  • Viscose rugs should be used in areas with minimal risk of staining, moisture, or heavy wear. Avoid using liquids or spot treatments on these rugs, as well as rubbing stains, which can cause them to penetrate more deeply.
  • For cleaning, we recommend professional rug washing services with experience in fine rugs. Avoid dry cleaning.

Storage

  • When storing the rug, roll it with the top side in and wrap it in cloth for protection. Use breathable material to wrap the rug while storing it (not plastic). Never fold the rug for storage.
  • Never store a dirty rug as it is a breeding ground for pests.
