ABRASH (uh - brahsh)
Abrash – a Persian word that describes the delicate movement of colour that one sees in handmade rugs. It is brought about by the uneven absorption of dyes in hand-spun yarn and is typical to small batch, artisanal production.

Sahil Jain Co- Founder Sahil grew up as an Army kid, spending his formative years in military cantonments across India. After graduating from IIM Indore, he briefly worked as a corporate banker but soon craved a more creative and entrepreneurial path. This desire led him to embark on a journey, back in 2003, into the world of rugs and he is today considered one of the foremost voices in the industry. With a keen design sensibility and extensive knowledge of rug making, his creations have found home in some of the finest residences worldwide. Two decades later, the creation of Studio Abrash has allowed him to realise a long-cherished dream of bringing truly exquisite rugs to the Indian market. He is happiest when collaborating on projects with clients and sharing his passion for the artistry of rugs. An avid traveler, Sahil explored over 30 countries before turning 30. He’s also an avid sportsman and on most mornings, you can catch him playing badminton or enjoying a round of golf. He also has a love for music, spanning a wide arc from ghazals to R&B. |

Shrutee Jain Co-Founder Shrutee loves all things aesthetic. She has a discerning eye for art, and is a keen collector of modern art forms. During her vacations, she's often found wandering through charming, quaint galleries in search of hidden gems. The creation of Studio Abrash has allowed her to combine her love for beauty with her commitment to supporting traditional industries. She brings over two decades of finance experience across Corporate and Investment Banking, specializing in Equity Capital Markets and M&A. She worked at Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas where she set up and scaled businesses. She completed her MBA from MDI (Gurgaon) and Economics at Sri Venkateswara College in Delhi. She did her schooling at DPS, RK Puram, and is a proud Dipsite. Outside of her professional life, Shrutee is a talented cook and enjoys karaoke. |
